oh man.... after i read thru this.. i remember my childhood days in Chandrapur (near nagpur).. where every maharastrian frnds of mine use to have gannu's celebration at their place.. and there where endless count of gannus to visit and seek blessing from.... while i was reading for a moment i felt am visiting those places personally... waiting for durga puja anxiously... :)
@ Niky - Chintu is here .. wrking at a place in Thane itself.. happy with it. And yep, Nishit Bhaiyaa got engaged just a couple of days before Ganpati celebrations!
@ Tania - I completely understand,and I suppose, in most parts of Maharashtra it indeed is a significant custom, and a very sweet one to visit Bappas at everyone's homes. And Mumbai, being multicultural as it is, you don't even have to be a Maharashtrian to bring dearest Ganu home - the list of friends n families I have listed here include a Tamilian, a Sindhi, a Gujrati and a Bengali!
